Case Study Mount Anvil - Kampus

Background:

Mount Anvil is a property developer based in the UK, with a portfolio of high-end residential and commercial properties. The Cloisters listed building, located in Kampus, Manchester, required a renovation of the three corridor walkways, each consisting of a 60m2 ply deck built to falls to an external gutter system.

Challenge:

The challenge was to find a waterproofing system that could withstand the harsh weather conditions in Manchester and provide a durable and long-lasting solution for the walkways. The system needed to be quick and easy to install, with minimal disruption to the daily operations of the building.

Solution:

Elite Flat Roofing was selected to complete the liquid waterproofing to the three corridor walkways using the Paraflex FD waterproofing system. The Paraflex FD system is a fast-curing, solvent-free, and cold-applied liquid waterproofing membrane that is ideal for complex and curved roofs.

Process:

The project began with Elite Flat Roofing preparing the surface of the ply deck, ensuring that it was clean, dry, and free from any contaminants. A self-adhesive carrier membrane was then applied, followed by the Paraflex FD waterproofing system.

The Paraflex FD system was applied in two coats, with a curing time of approximately two hours per coat. The system was then finished with a Domus Petrology tile walkway on adjustable pedestals, providing a non-slip surface that is safe for pedestrian traffic.

Result:
